CIMIC Group company Sedgman has acquired Canadian engineering and metallurgy firm Novopro Projects Inc., which will be renamed Sedgman Novopro and operate as part of Sedgman in North America. The acquisition adds Novopro's lithium-processing and minerals-processing engineering expertise to Sedgman's capabilities and bolsters Sedgman's North American presence.

Sandvik AB has signed an agreement to acquire Canada-based ICAM Technologies Corporation, a provider of post-processing, machine simulation and tool-path optimization software for CNC machining. ICAM (founded in Montreal in 1971) will be reported within Sandvik Coromant; the company has about 27 employees and 2020 revenues of roughly SEK 30 million. The deal is expected to close in Q4 2021 and strengthens Sandvik's verification and optimization offering for component manufacturing.
