Facebook (Meta) Acquires GIPHY to Integrate with Instagram

Facebook (Meta) has acquired GIPHY and will bring the GIPHY team into the Instagram organization to further integrate GIPHY's GIF library and sticker content across Instagram and other Facebook apps. GIPHY will continue to operate its content library and APIs while Facebook plans to invest in GIPHY’s technology and creator partnerships to improve GIF discovery and expression across its products.
