Automatic Fire Protection Acquires Apex Fire Protection and West Texas Fire

Automatic Fire Protection (AFP) acquired Houston/Tomball-based Apex Fire Protection and West Texas Fire (a division of West Texas Industrial Supply) to expand its geographic footprint across Texas and broaden its fire protection product and service offerings. The deals add water-based sprinkler installation capabilities, extinguisher and kitchen-hood services, and strengthen AFP's ability to serve commercial and industrial customers across Texas.

The sale — driven in part by the sudden retirement of American Automatic Sprinkler’s South Texas vice president — transfers the San Antonio team and customer relationships to Summit while the company’s Fort Worth operations remain unaffected.

Blackford Capital acquired Security Fire Systems (SFS) on December 12, 2024, launching its Fire Safety Consolidation Platform; terms were not disclosed. SFS, founded in 1993 and based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area (Coppell, Texas), provides fire sprinkler design, installation, testing, maintenance and fire alarm services across Texas, Arkansas, Colorado and Oklahoma; SFS management will remain in place as Blackford pursues further add-on consolidation opportunities.

Satori Capital has made an investment in Accelerated Learning Solutions (ALS), a Orlando-based operator of dropout prevention and recovery programs that runs 19 programs across Florida, North Carolina, and Georgia serving nearly 6,000 students. Satori said it will accelerate ALS's growth by opening new schools and expanding its footprint to serve more at-risk students through long-term contracts with school districts.
