Drax Biomass Acquires Louisiana Pellets for $35.4 million

Drax Biomass submitted the winning auction bid of $35.4 million to acquire Louisiana Pellets, a bankrupt wood-pellet manufacturer based in Urania, Louisiana. The purchase adds a facility with ~450,000 metric tons/year capacity and supports Drax's strategy to more than double pellet production to self-supply 20–30% of Drax Power Station demand and pursue new biomass markets.

Targa Resources Acquires Lucid Energy for $3.55B

Targa Resources Corp. completed the $3.55 billion acquisition of Lucid Energy Delaware, LLC, adding approximately 1,050 miles of gas gathering pipelines and ~1.4 Bcf/d of cryogenic gas processing capacity concentrated in the Delaware Basin. The deal, purchased from a group of private-equity and infrastructure investors led by Riverstone and Goldman Sachs Asset Management (and related funds), expands Targa's Permian Basin footprint and anchored volumes under long-term contracts.

The deal expands Best Trash's footprint beyond Texas into Louisiana and Mississippi and adds roll-off and construction debris services; Pelican founders Roddie Matherne and Corey Callais will retain an ownership stake in the combined company.

Woodside Energy Group Ltd and its U.S. acquisition vehicles have acquired all outstanding shares of Tellurian Inc. in an all-cash transaction of $1.00 per share (approximately $900 million cash; implied enterprise value ~ $1.2 billion). The deal closed in Q4 2024, making Tellurian a wholly owned subsidiary of Woodside and bringing the Driftwood LNG project into Woodside's portfolio (renamed Woodside Louisiana LNG).

(NYSE: VTLE) signed a definitive agreement to acquire the assets of Driftwood Energy Operating, LLC, comprising leasehold interests, production and hedges, in exchange for 1,578,948 shares of Vital common stock and $127.6 million in cash. The asset package (effective Jan. 1, 2023) includes ~16,500 gross acres (11,200 net) in Upton and Reagan counties of the Midland Basin, ~5,400 BOE/day production, and an estimated 30 gross operated horizontal locations.
