Corza Medical, a GTCR portfolio company, has acquired Katena Products from Audax Private Equity. Katena is a Parsippany, New Jersey–based manufacturer of precision ophthalmic instruments, single-use devices and specialty biologics with more than 200 employees and sales in over 110 countries. Audax, which acquired Katena in 2015, supported the company's operational and M&A-driven growth during its ownership.

Katena Products Acquires ASICO, LLC

Katena Products, a global ophthalmic instruments and devices company (PE-backed by Audax Private Equity), has acquired ASICO, LLC, a 35-year-old maker of ophthalmic surgical instruments based in Westmont, Illinois. The acquisition expands Katena’s surgical portfolio and global reach by adding ASICO’s ~1,500-product instrument range and clinical key-opinion-leader network as an add-on to its platform.

AMETEK Acquires Kern Microtechnik

AMETEK, Inc. has acquired Kern Microtechnik, a German manufacturer of ultra‑precision machining equipment and optical inspection systems, to bolster AMETEK's Ultra Precision Technologies capabilities within its Electronic Instruments Group. Kern is headquartered near Munich, Germany and generates approximately €50 million in annual sales; AMETEK cited technology, market and geographic expansion synergies from the transaction.

Zeon Corporation Acquires Aurora Microplates

Zeon Corporation has reached an agreement to acquire Aurora Microplates, a manufacturer of high-performance microplates used in drug discovery and diagnostic research. The deal, announced in Tokyo, will allow Zeon to enter the microplate market and expand into research and diagnostics by integrating a long-term supplier into its product portfolio; the transaction is expected to close by February 28, 2022.
