Zeon Corporation, through its U.S. subsidiary Zeon Specialty Materials Inc., purchased 100% of Edge Precision Manufacturing, Inc., a Massachusetts-based manufacturer of micro‑featured thermoplastic disposables, on December 28, 2022. The acquisition strengthens Zeon's cyclo olefin polymer (COP) offering for microfluidic and diagnostic devices by combining Zeon's materials with Edge's precision compression‑molding capabilities and customer network.

Quanterix Corporation Acquires Akoya Biosciences

Quanterix Corporation has completed its acquisition of Akoya Biosciences, combining Quanterix's ultra‑sensitive blood biomarker detection platform with Akoya's spatial biology imaging and reagents. Under the amended merger agreement, Quanterix issued approximately 7.8 million shares and paid about $20 million in cash to Akoya equity holders; the combined business is expected to expand the company's served addressable market and accelerate the path to profitability.

Bruker Corporation Acquires PhenomeX Inc.

Bruker Corporation agreed to acquire PhenomeX Inc. in an all-cash transaction valued at roughly $108 million (purchase price $1.00 per share). PhenomeX — formed from the combination of Berkeley Lights and IsoPlexis and provider of single-cell biology instruments, software and reagents — will be folded into a Bruker subsidiary, marking Bruker’s entry into single-cell biology research tools and complementing its spatial biology offerings.

Nautic Partners Acquires Aurora Plastics

Nautic Partners has completed the acquisition of Aurora Plastics, a Streetsboro, Ohio-based producer of PVC and custom polymer compounds, in partnership with Aurora management. The seller parties were Wind Point Partners and Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board; financing for the deal was led by Antares Capital and Carlyle Global Credit, and Nautic says it will support Aurora's growth and pursue acquisitions in the fragmented specialty compounds market.

Asahi Kasei Medical Acquires Bionova Scientific

Asahi Kasei Medical agreed to wholly acquire Bionova Scientific, a Fremont, California-based biopharmaceutical CDMO that provides process development and GMP-compliant manufacturing services for next-generation antibody drugs. The acquisition, executed through a U.S. subsidiary, expands Asahi Kasei Medical's bioprocess and CDMO capabilities to better serve biologics developers and accelerate growth of its bioprocess business; closing is subject to regulatory clearances.

AstraZeneca Acquires Fusion Pharmaceuticals

AstraZeneca has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Fusion Pharmaceuticals Inc., a clinical-stage company developing next-generation actinium-based radioconjugates, for $21.00 per share in cash plus a non-transferable contingent value right that could bring the total to approximately $2.4 billion. The acquisition adds Fusion's pipeline (including FPI-2265 for mCRPC), R&D and manufacturing capabilities in radioconjugates and strengthens AstraZeneca's oncology portfolio and presence in Canada.
