Indianapolis-based Bloomerang acquired Lakeland, Florida-based fundraising software firm Qgiv in a deal that closed in December. The acquisition adds Qgiv's online giving, event registration and peer-to-peer fundraising capabilities to Bloomerang's fundraising, CRM and volunteer management platform; the combined company has about 500 employees and more than 23,000 customers.

The investment complements existing backer JMI Equity and follows Bloomerang’s recent acquisitions of Qgiv and InitLive as the company scales its product and customer base (now serving ~23,000 nonprofits).

SofterWare Acquires Givecloud

The acquisition is intended to accelerate SofterWare’s product roadmap by embedding Givecloud’s donation-form capabilities into the DonorPerfect ecosystem and scale Givecloud’s tools to a broader nonprofit customer base.

Newsela Acquires Formative

Newsela has acquired Formative to combine its K-12 instructional content library with Formative’s real-time assessment and data capabilities, creating a more comprehensive instructional solution for teachers and administrators. The deal brings together Newsela’s 15,000+ content library and Formative’s assessment platform (used by over four million students) effective immediately to enable faster feedback, targeted intervention, and improved student outcomes.
