Ontic Acquires Triumph Group's Staverton Facility and Legacy Product Lines

Ontic has purchased the Staverton facility and licensed certain legacy product lines from Triumph Group, expanding its UK manufacturing and aftermarket capabilities. The deal transfers the existing facility, select product lines and more than 90 employees to Ontic to support military, civil and marine platforms.

SIB Corp., operating as StoneRidge Insurance Brokers and backed by private equity firm CIVC Partners, has acquired John Stark & Company, a family-owned full-service insurance brokerage with offices in Barrie and Coldwater, Ontario. The acquisition expands StoneRidge’s personal, commercial and life insurance offerings and continues SIB’s roll-up strategy in Canada; Stark is the eighth transaction since SIB partnered with CIVC in 2019.

CIVC Partners Invests in OTR Transportation

Chicago-based private equity firm CIVC Partners has made a growth investment in OTR Transportation, a Chicago-headquartered technology-enabled freight broker, in partnership with founder and CEO Jon Braun. The deal leaves the OTR management team in place (Braun retaining a significant stake) and will support accelerated organic growth and pursuit of strategic acquisitions; Dan Para is participating as a co-investor and will join OTR's board.

CI Financial Corp. Acquires Majority Interest in Stavis & Cohen Financial LLC

CI Financial Corp. will acquire a majority interest in Houston-based registered investment advisor Stavis & Cohen Financial LLC, which manages approximately US$570 million in assets. The deal expands CI's U.S. wealth platform (raising U.S. assets to about US$13 billion and North American wealth assets to ~US$59 billion) and is expected to close prior to year-end; terms were not disclosed.

Investor Group Led by The Riverside Company Acquires The Townsend Group from Aon

An investor group led by The Riverside Company has signed a definitive agreement to acquire The Townsend Group from Aon plc. Co-investors Bluerock, MLC Private Equity and Ten Capital Management will participate alongside Riverside as Townsend transitions to independent ownership to pursue growth in real assets investment advisory and management.
