Canon Inc. Acquires Redlen Technologies

Canon Inc. agreed to acquire Redlen Technologies Inc., making the British Columbia–based developer of Cadmium Zinc Telluride (CZT) semiconductor detector modules a wholly owned subsidiary. Canon said the acquisition will accelerate development and mass production of next-generation photon-counting CT systems and expand Canon’s medical component business by supplying CZT detector modules to medical equipment manufacturers worldwide.
