EC Waste, LLC, a Post Capital Partners portfolio company, acquired Republic Services of Puerto Rico (a subsidiary of Republic Services, Inc.) effective September 1, 2020. The deal — terms undisclosed and financed by Banco Popular de Puerto Rico — adds two landfills, a transfer station and two hauling operations, expanding EC Waste's footprint to operate four landfills, three transfer stations and four hauling operations across Puerto Rico.

Action Carting / Interstate Waste Services Acquires Multiple NYC Waste Operators

Action Carting Environmental Services, a subsidiary of Interstate Waste Services, announced the acquisition and asset purchases of several New York City waste and recycling operators — Diverse Recycling Solutions, Full Circle Recycling Services, and select assets of Evergreen Waste Corp. and City Waste Services — to strengthen its capabilities ahead of the city’s Commercial Waste Zone (CWZ) rollout. All acquired operations will be integrated under the Action brand to expand service capacity and preserve long-standing neighborhood operators.

Interstate Waste Services Acquires Evergreen Recycling Solutions

Interstate Waste Services, a privately held waste and recycling services provider based in Teaneck, New Jersey, has acquired Evergreen Recycling Solutions, a LEED-certified C&D material recovery facility and transfer station based in Newark, New Jersey. The acquisition adds a state-of-the-art construction & demolition (C&D) MRF to IWS's network, expanding its C&D processing and recycling capabilities across Northern and Central New Jersey.

EcoSouth Florida (Kinderhook) Acquires A Waste and Recycling

EcoSouth Florida, a portfolio company of Kinderhook Industries, has acquired A Waste and Recycling, a roll-off waste collection company with a transfer station in Sarasota, Florida. The deal expands EcoSouth Florida’s presence and capabilities in the Sarasota market; A Waste founder and CEO Roger Alvarez will partner with EcoSouth Florida post-close. Financing was provided by Comerica Bank and Akin Gump served as legal counsel to the buyer.

Macquarie Asset Management and BCI Acquire Renewi

Macquarie Asset Management (via Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 7) and British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) have completed the acquisition of Renewi, a leading waste-to-product recycling company. The Consortium said it will support Renewi’s One Renewi transformation strategy and growth plans to strengthen recycling yields and expand its position across the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Portugal.
