Cairngorm Capital Acquires Chandlers Building Supplies and Merges It with Parkers to Create Independent Builders' Merchant Group

Cairngorm Capital has acquired Chandlers Building Supplies Limited and will merge it with its existing builders' merchant brands Parker Building Supplies (Parkers), Stamco and Fairalls to form the Independent Builders' Merchant Group. The enlarged business will operate 37 branches across the Midlands and South East with combined revenues of £180 million and over 750 employees; Chandlers contributes 14 branches, approximately £60 million in revenue and over 230 employees.

Parker Building Supplies, a portfolio company of Cairngorm Capital Partners, has acquired Sussex Turnery and Moulding Company Limited (trading as Stamco). Stamco, a Hastings-headquartered independent builders' merchant and wholesale timber processor with five branches, ~180 employees and reported 2018 revenue of £32m, was sold as owners Mike Cullis and Roger Brightiff retired; the deal expands Parkers' footprint to 20 branches across Sussex and Kent with combined revenues of more than £100m and over 450 employees.
