Southwire Acquires Construction Electrical Products (CEP)

Southwire, a Carrollton, Georgia-based electrical products manufacturer, has acquired Construction Electrical Products (CEP) of Livermore, California. The acquisition adds CEP's temporary power distribution and portable lighting product lines, a 48,000 sq ft facility and 47 employees to Southwire's Tools, Components and Assembled Solutions portfolio to expand its lighting and electrical safety offerings.

Sonepar Acquires Madison Electric Company and Standard Electric Company

Sonepar has agreed to acquire Michigan-based distributors Madison Electric Company (Warren) and Standard Electric Company (Saginaw). The two family-run distributors operate a combined 36 locations with over 550 associates and generated roughly $400 million in 2023; the deal is expected to close by the end of April, pending regulatory review.

Southwire Acquires American Elite Molding (AEM)

Southwire has acquired American Elite Molding (AEM), a Crestview, Florida-based manufacturer of nylon cable ties, integrating AEM's 75,000 sq. ft. ISO 9001 facility and 142 employees into its Components Solutions platform. The acquisition expands Southwire's components offering—adding products such as EZ-Off ties, releasable ties and HVAC duct straps—and strengthens its Made-in-USA manufacturing capabilities for construction, industrial, retail and OEM markets.

Southwire Acquires Novinium, Inc.

MW Components Acquires Western Wire Products Company

MW Components, a Charlotte-based precision components manufacturer, acquired Western Wire Products Company effective June 9, 2023. The deal adds Western Wire’s wire‑forming capabilities and product range (cotter pins, hitch pins, spring pins and custom wire forms) to MW Components’ portfolio, expanding its stock and custom wire form offering and strengthening service for industrial customers.

Sonepar Acquires Multiple North American Electrical Distributors (2024)

Sonepar announced a series of North American acquisitions in 2024, completing seven deals that together add more than $2 billion in revenue, roughly 1,700 associates and 89 branches to its network. Named transactions reported in industry press include acquisitions of Madison Electric Company, Standard Electric Company, Echo Electric Supply Company, Electric Supply Center and Summit Electric Supply, part of Sonepar’s continued U.S. geographic expansion and capability build-out.
