The deal brings Morrison’s management and team into Clear while strengthening Clear’s offering in the property, construction and property-owners insurance markets as part of its roll-up strategy supported by ECI Partners.

Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s private equity business has agreed to acquire Chartered insurance broker Clear Group from ECI Partners, subject to regulatory approval. Clear Group, which has grown via 10 acquisitions under ECI and now employs over 600 people across 15 locations while handling over £330m of premiums, will be backed by Goldman Sachs to continue its M&A-driven scaling strategy.

Clear London Markets (Clear Group) Acquires Lloyd's Broker Lilley Plummer Risks from B.P. Marsh

Clear London Markets Limited, majority owned by Goldman Sachs Asset Management and part of the Clear Group, has agreed to acquire Lilley Plummer Risks Limited (LPR), a specialist Lloyd's broker, from B.P. Marsh & Partners Plc. The deal adds approximately £150m of gross written premium to Clear, will see B.P. Marsh receive about £21.65m net of transaction costs, and brings LPR's ~38 staff into the Clear Group to bolster its Lloyd's and specialist broking capabilities.
