Clear Group (Clear Insurance Management), backed by PE partner ECI, has acquired Light & Legal Indemnity Solutions, a specialist broker for Rights of Light and legal indemnity insurance. The bolt-on adds Dean Perkin’s specialist team to Clear’s Rights of Light and Legal Indemnities capability to deepen the group’s property and construction insurance offering for developers, investors and other professionals.

Goldman Sachs Asset Management Acquires Clear Group from ECI Partners

Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s private equity business has agreed to acquire Chartered insurance broker Clear Group from ECI Partners, subject to regulatory approval. Clear Group, which has grown via 10 acquisitions under ECI and now employs over 600 people across 15 locations while handling over £330m of premiums, will be backed by Goldman Sachs to continue its M&A-driven scaling strategy.

AssuredPartners, Inc. has acquired WTPhelan & Co. Insurance Agency, Inc., a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based insurance agency. The WTPhelan team of 58 (reporting $18 million in annualized revenue) will remain under current leadership as part of AssuredPartners’ Northeast expansion and is the firm’s 20th acquisition of 2020.

Clear Group has acquired Shire Insurance Services Limited (SIS), a specialist UK insurance broker focused on the veterinary sector. The Alcester-based firm (founded 1981) employs ~15 people and will remain led by majority shareholder Keith Dickinson, with the deal adding veterinary expertise to Clear's UK Retail pillar.

The Mather Group Acquires Clear Perspectives Financial Planning

The Mather Group, a Chicago-based fee-only wealth management firm, has acquired Clear Perspectives Financial Planning, a Cincinnati-based registered investment adviser with approximately $360 million in AUM. The deal expands TMG’s national footprint (establishing its first brick-and-mortar office in Ohio) and brings the Clear Perspectives team into TMG while preserving client relationships and local operations.
