Griffon Corporation Acquires Hunter Fan Company for $845M

Griffon Corporation, through its subsidiary The AMES Companies, has acquired Hunter Fan Company from MidOcean Partners for $845 million (subject to customary post-closing adjustments). Hunter will join Griffon’s Consumer and Professional Products segment, bringing a leading U.S. ceiling-fan brand with ~ $400M of revenue (first full fiscal year contribution) and expanding Griffon’s retail and e-commerce channels.

The AMES Companies (Griffon) Acquires Pope from The Toro Company

Griffon Corporation’s subsidiary The AMES Companies, Inc. has acquired Pope, an Australia-based provider of residential watering products, from The Toro Company. The acquisition expands AMES’s Australian product portfolio; Pope is expected to contribute about $25 million in annualized revenue and be accretive to Griffon’s earnings in the first full year of ownership. Financial terms were not disclosed.

HBM Holdings Acquires HarperLove from Graycliff Partners

The company was previously a portfolio company of Graycliff Partners; HarperLove's management team will remain in place and terms were not disclosed.

Loar Holdings Acquires Harper Engineering for $250 Million

Loar said it will combine its operational and engineering capabilities with Harper’s portfolio of aircraft interior latching and securing mechanisms to expand Harper’s aftermarket footprint and support growth from rising commercial aircraft build rates.

PlayMonster Acquires BriteBrush from WowWee

PlayMonster LLC, a Beloit, Wisconsin-based toy and game company backed by Audax Private Equity, has acquired BriteBrush, the award-winning interactive kids' toothbrush brand developed by WowWee. PlayMonster will expand the BriteBrush line, leveraging its marketing and distribution channels to grow the brand globally and continue innovation in kid-focused oral care. The deal adds smart brushing sensor technology to PlayMonster’s consumer portfolio and aligns with Audax’s focus on consumer products and health.

Clean Harbors Acquires HEPACO from Gryphon Investors for $400M

Clean Harbors, Inc. completed the acquisition of HEPACO from Gryphon Investors for $400 million in cash, financed in part by a $500 million expansion of its term loan facility. HEPACO, headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, generated approximately $270 million of revenue and $36 million of adjusted EBITDA in 2023 (about 1,000 employees across ~40 locations); Clean Harbors expects roughly $20 million of cost synergies and about $30 million of incremental adjusted EBITDA in 2024.
