Barcoding, Inc. acquired FRED Automation, Inc., an automated guided vehicle (AGV) designer and manufacturer based near Philadelphia, to expand its industrial automation and materials-handling capabilities. FRED — maker of the FRED and Freddie AGVs and spun out of ASI Technologies — will be integrated into Barcoding’s supply-chain automation solutions and offered to manufacturing and warehouse customers across North America.
