Boston Scientific Acquires Obsidio, Inc.

Boston Scientific Corporation announced the acquisition of Obsidio, Inc., the developer of Gel Embolic Material (GEM) technology for peripheral embolization, strengthening Boston Scientific’s interventional oncology and embolization portfolio. The FDA-cleared GEM technology is a ready-to-use, semi-solid embolic intended to provide precise, controlled vessel occlusion; terms were not disclosed and the deal was described as immaterial to Boston Scientific’s 2022 EPS.
