Hexagon's Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division has acquired Parma-based CAD Service to fully integrate its OpenCAD visualisation tools into HxGN EAM. CAD Service, which has a nine-person team and a longstanding partnership with Hexagon, will be consolidated into Hexagon to accelerate development of enhanced 3D visualisation capabilities for customers in manufacturing, energy, and transportation.

Hexagon AB Acquires CADS Additive GmbH

Hexagon AB has completed the acquisition of CADS Additive GmbH, an Austrian provider of software for metal additive manufacturing build preparation. The purchase expands Hexagon's additive manufacturing software capabilities by integrating CADS Additive's AM Studio build-preparation and support-structure tools into Hexagon's Nexus-enabled AM workflow and Simufact Additive simulation offerings.

Cadence Design Systems to Acquire BETA CAE Systems for About $1.24 Billion

Hexagon Completes Acquisitions of 3D Systems’ Geomagic Suite and Septentrio NV

Hexagon completed its acquisition of 3D Systems’ Geomagic suite of interoperable 3D modelling software packages and acquired Septentrio NV’s GNSS technologies. The Geomagic suite is consolidated in April 2025 within Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division, while Septentrio is consolidated in March 2025 within Hexagon’s Autonomous Solutions division.

Cadence Design Systems Acquires OpenEye Scientific

Cadence Design Systems entered into a definitive agreement to acquire OpenEye Scientific Software, a provider of computational molecular modeling and simulation software used in pharmaceutical and biotechnology drug discovery. The deal is valued at approximately $500 million in cash and was expected to close in Q3 2022 (subject to customary conditions). Cadence later announced it completed the acquisition.

Cadence Design Systems Acquires Invecas

Cadence Design Systems has acquired Invecas, a design engineering and embedded software firm headquartered in Santa Clara, California, to strengthen Cadence's system design engineering capabilities across chip design, advanced packaging and embedded software. The acquisition brings an engineering team centered in Hyderabad and is expected to be immaterial to Cadence's revenue; terms were not disclosed.
