Caterpillar Acquires Skycatch to Expand AI-Powered Mining Technology Platform

Caterpillar has acquired Skycatch, a provider of spatial data capture, processing, and analytics solutions for mining. The deal strengthens Caterpillar’s digital mining offering by adding near-real-time spatial data and AI capabilities, which are expected to be integrated with Caterpillar’s MineStar platform and RPMGlobal mining software to improve mine planning and execution.
