Chase Corporation Acquires NuCera Solutions from SK Capital

Chase Corporation completed its acquisition of NuCera Solutions for $250 million (subject to working capital adjustments and excluding acquisition-related costs). NuCera, a specialty polymers and polymerization technologies provider formed from a Baker Hughes carve-out, will continue to operate under NuCera brands and be integrated into Chase’s Adhesives, Sealants and Additives reporting unit.

The Starco Group, a Los Angeles-based manufacturer of aerosol and liquid-fill products, has acquired Chase Products Co., a Broadview, Illinois-based aerosol manufacturer founded in 1927. The acquisition adds Chase's spray paint, household cleaning, personal care and EPA-registered disinfectant and insecticide capabilities to Starco's existing manufacturing footprint to expand capacity and product offerings.

Funds advised by SK Capital Partners agreed to acquire the specialty polymers business from Baker Hughes and completed the carveout in October 2020, rebranding the business as NuCera Solutions. SK Capital said it will operate the business as an independent specialty polymers manufacturer with a focus on product innovation and operational improvement, with manufacturing operations in Barnsdall, Oklahoma.
