Kymera International Acquires Thermal Spray Solutions, Inc.

Kymera International has acquired substantially all assets of Thermal Spray Solutions, Inc., a Chesapeake, Virginia-based thermal spray coatings provider that serves the U.S. Navy, shipbuilding and industrial customers. The deal expands Kymera’s surface technologies and specialty coatings capabilities and is the seventh acquisition completed by Kymera under Palladium Equity Partners’ ownership. Terms were not disclosed.

Chase Corporation Acquires NuCera Solutions from SK Capital

Chase Corporation completed its acquisition of NuCera Solutions for $250 million (subject to working capital adjustments and excluding acquisition-related costs). NuCera, a specialty polymers and polymerization technologies provider formed from a Baker Hughes carve-out, will continue to operate under NuCera brands and be integrated into Chase’s Adhesives, Sealants and Additives reporting unit.

SK Capital Acquires Canlak and Valentus Specialty Chemicals to Form Canlak Coatings

Funds advised by SK Capital Partners have acquired Canadian coatings maker Canlak Inc. and U.S.-based Valentus Specialty Chemicals and will merge the businesses to form Canlak Coatings, headquartered in North Brunswick, New Jersey. The combined company will offer a broad wood coatings portfolio (including lacquers, waterborne, UV-cured and polyurethanes) for flooring, cabinet and furniture manufacturers; Normand Guindon will serve as Executive Chairman and Robert Jamieson was named President & CEO.

SK Capital Acquires Catalent's Blow‑Fill‑Seal Sterile CDMO Business (Woodstock Sterile Solutions)

Funds managed by SK Capital Partners completed the acquisition of Catalent Pharma Solutions' Blow‑Fill‑Seal (BFS) sterile CDMO business and relaunched the business as Woodstock Sterile Solutions. The single‑site Woodstock, Illinois operation will operate independently under new CEO Paul Josephs, supporting global pharmaceutical and biologics customers; Catalent was the seller and debt financing was provided by Cerberus Business Finance.

SK Capital Acquires PolyOne's Performance Products & Solutions, Renaming It GEON Performance Solutions

SK Capital completed the acquisition of the Performance Products & Solutions business from PolyOne Corporation (transaction announced at ~$775 million) and has renamed the carved-out business GEON Performance Solutions. The company, headquartered in Avon Lake, Ohio, operates 12 manufacturing sites across North America and Asia, employs ~1,100 people, and will be run as a standalone platform focused on plastic compounding and contract manufacturing.
