Sartorius Acquires WaterSep BioSeparations

German life‑science group Sartorius, via its subgroup Sartorius Stedim Biotech, has acquired U.S.-based purification specialist WaterSep BioSeparations LLC. The deal, valued at approximately $27 million plus an earn‑out of up to $9 million, adds hollow‑fiber crossflow filtration and single‑use bioprocessing devices aimed at gene and cell therapy, vaccine production and intensified bioprocessing to Sartorius' separation portfolio.

The transaction buys the business from private equity backers including ARCHIMED and Warburg Pincus and strengthens Sartorius’s cell & gene therapy reagent and upstream bioprocessing portfolio.

BioStem Technologies Acquires BioTissue's Surgical and Wound Care Business

BioStem Technologies (OTC: BSEM) has acquired the surgical and wound care business of BioTissue Holdings, Inc. for approximately $15 million upfront, with up to $25 million of contingent milestone and royalty payments. The deal includes the Neox and Clarix product lines, a nationwide commercial sales organization and assigned GPO contracts, expanding BioStem's access into hospital inpatient and outpatient wound-care markets and adding assets that generated roughly $29 million in 2025.

The deal adds Sani-Tech's ~170 employees, cleanroom manufacturing footprint and product lines (bottles, caps, tubing, fittings and assemblies) to 3i's existing platform (including Cellon, Silicone Altimex and TBL), enhancing global manufacturing capacity, supply-chain assurance and product breadth for biopharma customers.
