The founder, Christopher Troy, sold the business in preparation for retirement and will remain involved for a transition period; BDC Capital provided acquisition financing.

MetroNet Acquires Jaguar Communications

MetroNet (MetroNet Holdings, LLC) has acquired Owatonna, Minnesota-based Jaguar Communications, integrating the regional fiber-optic provider into its 100% fiber network to expand ultra-high-speed internet, phone and IPTV services across southern Minnesota. MetroNet expects to invest an additional $150 million or more to grow the Minnesota market; terms were not disclosed and the companies will fully integrate under the MetroNet brand.

Lynx Equity Acquires Yellowhead Wood Products Inc.

Toronto-based private equity firm Lynx Equity Limited has acquired Yellowhead Wood Products Inc., a 30-year-old secondary wood remanufacturer headquartered in Edson, Alberta. The acquisition expands Lynx's wood re-manufacturing platform (joining Winfield Wood and Lath) and was supported by $3.5 million in acquisition financing from BDC Capital; the sellers were the shareholders of Yellowhead and the sell-side process was led by MNP Corporate Finance.

Qualus Corporation acquired Aquawolf, the transmission and distribution engineering subsidiary of Mammoth Energy, expanding Qualus' high-voltage transmission and grid modernization capabilities and adding offices in San Diego, Denver and Vancouver, Washington. The acquisition deepens Qualus' engineering and construction support services across the project life cycle and strengthens its technical capabilities in transmission and distribution design, resiliency and grid hardening.

Toronto-based private equity firm Lynx Equity Limited has acquired Esmay Electric, a Lake Havasu City, Arizona electrical contractor specializing in solar panel installations, design and permitting. The founder, Greg Esmay, sold the business as part of his retirement, and Lynx intends to maintain existing customer and employee relationships while supporting the company’s leadership and continued operations in the solar sector.
