GlobalFoundries Acquires Advanced Micro Foundry

GlobalFoundries (GF) has acquired Singapore-based Advanced Micro Foundry (AMF), expanding GF's silicon photonics manufacturing capabilities and establishing GF as the largest pure-play silicon photonics foundry by revenue. The deal brings AMF's 200mm manufacturing platform, IP and talent into GF's global operations and includes plans to scale production and open a silicon photonics R&D center of excellence in Singapore.
