I Squared Capital Acquires Cogent Fiber Data Center Portfolio to Launch U.S. AI Inference and Edge Colocation Platform

I Squared Capital has entered into a definitive purchase and sale agreement to acquire a portfolio of ten U.S. data center facilities from Cogent Fiber, LLC, an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Cogent Communications, for $225 million in cash. The acquisition is intended to seed a new U.S. data center operating platform focused on colocation, high-density deployments, and AI inference infrastructure, with I Squared committing up to $1 billion to build the platform.
