Jazz Pharmaceuticals Acquires Actio Biosciences

Jazz Pharmaceuticals agreed to acquire Actio Biosciences for $820 million upfront, with up to $500 million in potential approval and sales milestones. The acquisition adds ABS-1230, an investigational precision therapy for KCNT1-related epilepsy, to Jazz’s rare epilepsy pipeline; the deal was completed on September 15, 2026. Certain other Actio programs and assets were transferred to a separately funded spin-out, in which Jazz received a minority stake.
