Synaptics Acquires DSP Group

Synaptics Incorporated completed the acquisition of DSP Group, a provider of voice processing and wireless chipset solutions, in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $549 million. The deal adds DSP Group's SmartVoice and ULE wireless technologies to Synaptics' portfolio, bolstering low-power edge AI and connectivity capabilities and enabling cross-selling opportunities.

The deal is DSP's first since investment from LDC and increases the combined group's Oracle capability and geographic footprint, bringing combined revenues above £75m and a headcount of roughly 250 across the UK, Ireland and North America.
