AEM, a San Diego–based designer and manufacturer of mission-critical electronic circuit protection components and a portfolio company of Industrial Growth Partners (IGP), acquired Renaissance Electronics & Communications (and its subsidiary HXI) on February 3, 2022. The deal expands AEM’s high-reliability component offering to include RF and millimeter-wave products, strengthening its position with space and defense customers and enabling cross-selling and geographic expansion.

Arlington Capital Partners Forms BlueHalo by Combining AEgis Technologies, Applied Technology Associates, and Brilligent Solutions

Arlington Capital Partners announced the formation of BlueHalo by combining its portfolio company AEgis Technologies (including prior integrated acquisitions Excivity and EMRC Heli) with newly acquired Applied Technology Associates and Brilligent Solutions. The merged company, BlueHalo, will provide advanced engineering and technology solutions across space, directed energy, missile defense, C4ISR, and cyber for the national security community.

Robinson Helicopter Company Acquires Ascent AeroSystems

Robinson Helicopter Company has acquired Ascent AeroSystems, a Wilmington, Massachusetts-based maker of coaxial uncrewed aerial systems (UAS). The deal brings Ascent's all-weather, modular drone platforms and payload ecosystem into Robinson's manufacturing footprint in Torrance, California to support expanded capability offerings for law enforcement, public safety, industrial and defense customers.

Airbus Helicopters Acquires 90% Stake in Eurocopter Kazakhstan Engineering

Airbus Helicopters increased its stake in Eurocopter Kazakhstan Engineering from 50% to 90%, taking majority control of the Kazakhstan-based helicopter assembly, sales and service joint venture. The Kazakh business has been renamed Airbus Helicopters Kazakhstan Engineering; financial terms were not disclosed and the deal strengthens Airbus's presence in Central Asia, particularly with government and emergency services customers.

Albireo Energy (Huron Capital) Acquires EMS Technologies

Albireo Energy, the building-automation and energy services platform backed by Huron Capital, has acquired EMS Technologies, a building automation and network integration provider serving the Washington/Baltimore area.
