Vancouver-based private equity firm CAI Capital Partners has made a platform investment in DWB Consulting Services Ltd., a British Columbia-based multidisciplinary consulting firm providing environmental, forestry and engineering services. Management and employee shareholders retain a meaningful equity stake and founder Dave Bedford will remain involved in an advisory role; debt financing for the transaction was provided by CIBC.

GreenbergFarrow Acquires DBI Architects

Atlanta-based GreenbergFarrow (GF) has acquired DBI Architects, a Reston, Virginia architecture and interior design firm founded in 1973. DBI — which has 34 employees and provides architecture, interior design, master planning, construction administration, furniture and move/facility management services — will join GF's platform; the transaction closed in March 2024 and Blackcastle served as exclusive advisor to DBI. Financial terms were not disclosed.

CAI Capital Partners’ portfolio company DWB Consulting Services Ltd. has merged with Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., creating British Columbia’s leading multidisciplinary consulting firm focused on environmental, engineering and forestry services. The combined organization will have nearly 300 employees (including ~250 technical professionals), maintain existing brands during transition, be led by CEO Cliff Roberts with Kevin Bedford as Executive VP, and used debt financing provided by CIBC.

Tamarix Equity Partners Makes Strategic Investment in Diamond Builders, Inc.

Tamarix Equity Partners completed a strategic equity investment in Diamond Builders, Inc. (DBI), a Douglas, Georgia–based manufacturer of prefabricated modular buildings, with WoodLake Group partnering on the transaction. The capital will support DBI’s continued growth as a commercial modular manufacturer serving education, industrial, healthcare, disaster-relief and military end markets and will partner with DBI’s founding Waldron family to scale operations.
