CAI Capital Partners’ portfolio company DWB Consulting Services Ltd. has merged with Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., creating British Columbia’s leading multidisciplinary consulting firm focused on environmental, engineering and forestry services. The combined organization will have nearly 300 employees (including ~250 technical professionals), maintain existing brands during transition, be led by CEO Cliff Roberts with Kevin Bedford as Executive VP, and used debt financing provided by CIBC.

Cor Partners (BW Forsyth-backed) Acquires DBI Construction Consultants

Cor Partners, the Atlanta-based parent company of insurance and forensic services businesses (backed by BW Forsyth Partners), has acquired DBI Construction Consultants, a New York–based provider of building and construction consulting and loss/damage measurement services. The acquisition will form a new division within the Cor Partners family and combines DBI with existing Envista Forensics building consulting resources to expand capabilities, coverage and service offerings to insurance and legal clients.

CAI Capital Partners has closed an investment in ATS Services Ltd., a Canada-based provider of aviation communication services, meteorological observations, training, and equipment distribution. The transaction — CAI's fourth platform investment from its sixth fund — will support ATS' continued growth across its 65 Canadian sites and was debt-financed by The Bank of Nova Scotia.

WSB LLC Acquires CAS Consulting & Services, Inc.

WSB LLC, a GHK Capital-backed national design and consulting firm, has acquired CAS Consulting & Services, a multidisciplinary civil engineering firm headquartered in Austin, Texas. The add-on brings four offices and 38 employees to WSB and strengthens its water/wastewater, water resources and construction management capabilities while expanding WSB's presence in Texas and the southwestern United States.

Vancouver-based private equity firm CAI Capital Partners has partnered with Midwestern Electric, a specialty electrical infrastructure services provider headquartered in East Chicago, Indiana. Management (including Ryan Rentschler, Ryan Lepper and Lenore Obajtek) retained meaningful equity and will continue to lead the business as CAI provides capital (with debt financing from CIBC) to support platform growth and expansion of MWE's municipal and commercial electrical services.
