AE Industrial Partners (AEI) has acquired a majority interest in Yingling Aviation, a Wichita-based provider of MRO and FBO services for business and government aviation. Terms were not disclosed; Yingling’s leadership (Chairman & CEO Lynn Nichols and President Andrew Nichols) will remain active owners and operators as AEI seeks to build a scaled independent platform in business aviation services.

Yingling Aviation, a PE-backed full-service MRO and FBO, has acquired Mid-Continent Aviation Services (MCAS), a Wichita-based aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul provider operating an 80,000+ sq. ft. facility at Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport. The deal, backed by AE Industrial Partners, expands Yingling's MRO capacity and technical capabilities in the strategic Wichita market; financial terms were not disclosed.

Yingling Aviation Acquires Global Engineering & Technology, Inc.

Yingling Aviation has acquired Global Engineering & Technology, Inc. (GETI), an aircraft interiors design, fabrication and refurbishment specialist based in Wichita, Kansas. The acquisition — supported by Yingling’s investor AE Industrial Partners — expands Yingling’s Wichita capacity and capabilities across aircraft interior services, adding GETI’s 60,000+ sq. ft. facility and extensive cabinetry, upholstery and seat refurbishment expertise.

UAV Factory (AE Industrial Partners) Acquires Jennings Aeronautics

UAV Factory, a portfolio company of private equity firm AE Industrial Partners, has acquired Jennings Aeronautics (JAI) and will combine JAI's SUAS capabilities with UAV Factory's tactical UAV and ISR platform. The deal expands AEI's unmanned and autonomous platform by adding JAI's engineering, manufacturing and autonomous flight-control expertise; terms were not disclosed.

Weinberg Capital Group and Salt River Aviation Acquire Aviocraft

Weinberg Capital Group and its portfolio company Salt River Aviation have acquired Aviocraft, an FAA Part 145–certified MRO provider based in Chandler, Arizona. The add-on expands Salt River Aviation's repair and overhaul capabilities for aircraft batteries, chargers, communications equipment, galleys, relays and other accessories.

Woolpert Acquires Jviation Inc.

Woolpert has acquired Jviation Inc., a Denver-based airport planning, survey, architecture, engineering and construction management firm, to strengthen its aviation and airport infrastructure services. The acquisition expands Woolpert's geographic footprint in the western U.S.; Jviation, founded in 2007, is headquartered in Denver and has over 100 employees with offices in multiple states.
