Marqeta has completed its acquisition of TransactPay, a licensed E-Money Institution (EMI) and BIN sponsorship provider operating in the United Kingdom and European Economic Area. The deal strengthens Marqeta’s card program management capabilities in Europe and enables customers to expand into the UK and EU with a more unified, integrated offering.

Trifecta Collective Acquires TRANSACT from the Electronic Transactions Association

Transact Acquires Hangry

Transact, a provider of campus payment and mobile credential solutions, has acquired Hangry, a Toronto-based mobile ordering and loyalty platform for higher education. The deal will integrate Hangry's mobile-first ordering, loyalty and marketing capabilities into Transact's campus commerce ecosystem to expand product functionality and improve the student experience; financial terms were not disclosed.

Quisitive Acquires BankCard USA

Quisitive Technology Solutions Inc. entered into an agreement to acquire BankCard USA Merchant Services, Inc. for US$100 million in cash plus the issuance of 50,000,000 common shares and a potential earn-out of up to US$20 million. BankCard USA, based in Westlake Village, California, processes over US$3.0 billion in payments annually, reported LTM revenue of US$29 million and LTM adjusted EBITDA of US$11 million, and will be integrated into Quisitive's LedgerPay payments platform; the deal is expected to close in Q2 2021 subject to approvals.

Mastercard Acquires Finicity for $825M to Boost Open Banking

The acquisition strengthens Mastercard's open banking capabilities and expands its data and account verification offerings for banks, fintechs and lenders in North America and beyond.

Willis Towers Watson Acquires TRANZACT from CD&R

Willis Towers Watson has acquired TRANZACT, a U.S. direct-to-consumer sales and marketing platform for Medicare and individual life insurance, from private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice for approximately $1.2–1.3 billion (including potential earn-out). The acquisition adds TRANZACT's technology-driven lead generation, sales execution and analytics capabilities — and its ~1,300 employees (including ~850 licensed agents) — to Willis Towers Watson's Benefits Delivery and Administration business to accelerate its direct-to-consumer strategy.
