Francisco Partners Acquires IBM's Healthcare Data & Analytics Assets to Launch Merative

Francisco Partners completed the acquisition of healthcare data and analytics assets from IBM's Watson Health business and launched the standalone company Merative, headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan. True Wind Capital and Sixth Street are investing alongside Francisco Partners; IBM sold the assets as part of the carve-out to enable Merative to pursue organic and inorganic growth across life sciences, providers, payers and government health sectors.

AEM Acquires WeatherWorks

AEM has acquired WeatherWorks, a nearly 40-year provider of meteorological consulting, forecast services, and the Certified Snowfall Totals® product, to expand AEM’s multi-hazard resiliency and weather-data capabilities. The transaction — announced with involvement from Union Park Capital — brings WeatherWorks’ forecasting, historical climate database, and forensic weather services into AEM’s suite of environmental insights solutions.

Vaisala Acquires Maxar Intelligence's WeatherDesk Business

Vaisala Corporation has acquired the WeatherDesk business assets from US-based Maxar Intelligence for USD 70 million to accelerate growth of its Xweather unit and expand AI-led weather forecasting capabilities. The deal, financed mainly with interest-bearing debt, transfers 34 professionals to Vaisala; WeatherDesk reported USD 13 million in recurring net sales in 2023.

IBM Acquires StreamSets and webMethods from Software AG
