Union Park Capital has acquired Earth Networks, a Germantown, Maryland-based provider of environmental intelligence and the world’s largest hyperlocal weather network. Earth Networks will join Union Park’s Advanced Environmental Monitoring (AE Monitoring) platform to expand its sensing, data and analytics capabilities; terms were not disclosed.

Nielsen-Kellerman Acquires Ambient Weather

Nielsen-Kellerman Co., a Clearview Capital-backed portfolio company, has completed the add-on acquisition of Ambient Weather, a Chandler, Arizona-based designer and marketer of weather stations and a cloud-based weather platform. The deal (closed December 6, 2019) adds fixed weather station hardware and a feature-rich cloud dashboard (API, IFTTT, Amazon Alexa and Google Home integrations) to NK's Kestrel instrument product suite to expand product capabilities and address both consumer and professional markets.

AEM Acquires Van Essen Instruments

The deal expands AEM's precision water-monitoring capabilities and combines Van Essen's global distributor network with AEM's cloud telemetry and analytics to deliver end-to-end environmental monitoring solutions.

JANUS Research Group Acquires Atmospheric and Environmental Research (AER) from Verisk

JANUS Research Group, a portfolio company of CM Equity Partners, has acquired Verisk's Atmospheric and Environmental Research (AER) business. The transaction (advised by D.A. Davidson for Verisk) brings AER's remote-sensing, climate, oceanography and space-weather capabilities into JANUS to broaden mission-focused science, analytics and AI/ML offerings for federal, defense and commercial customers.

Titan Cloud Software Acquires Environmental Monitoring Solutions (EMS)

Titan Cloud Software, a Nashville-area cloud software provider backed by M33 Growth, has acquired Australian wetstock management and forecourt automation specialist Environmental Monitoring Solutions (EMS). EMS will retain its brand and leadership (Russell Dupuy remains Managing Director and becomes SVP of Global Wetstock at Titan Cloud) as the deal expands Titan Cloud's wetstock management product portfolio and accelerates the company's geographic growth in Asia Pacific and Europe; financial terms were not disclosed.
