KPS Capital Partners Acquires Porcelain Enamel and Glass Coatings Businesses from Prince International (PEMCO International)

KPS Capital Partners agreed to acquire Prince International Corporation’s porcelain enamel, glass coatings, forehearth colorants and frit-based metallurgical products businesses and will form a standalone company called PEMCO International. The businesses operate three manufacturing facilities across Belgium, Italy and the United States, employ approximately 260 people, and the divestiture enables Prince to progress with its planned acquisition of Ferro Corporation.

Thompson Capital Partners Acquires Metco Metal Finishing, LLC

Thompson Capital Partners (TCP) completed the acquisition of Metco Metal Finishing, LLC, a Phoenix-based metal plating and chemical processing provider formerly a division of Triumph Manufacturing. TCP will combine Metco with its AID Aerospace portfolio company, investing in facility upgrades and pursuing aerospace Nadcap and quality certifications to expand capabilities and cross-sell into aerospace, automotive and semiconductor end markets.

BICO Steel Acquires RE Metal Finishing

BICO Steel, a portfolio company of Validor Capital, has acquired RE Metal Finishing (renamed BICO Metal Finishing), a Kent, Ohio-based provider of steel peening and metal finishing services. The acquisition expands BICO’s steel processing and fabrication capabilities across its Ohio and Michigan locations; terms were not disclosed.

Pexco LLC Acquires Performance Elastomers Corporation

Pexco LLC, a PE-backed North American specialty plastics extruder, acquired Performance Elastomers Corporation (PEC), a Ravenna, Ohio-based manufacturer of rubber, silicone and thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) products. The deal — announced December 1, 2021 — expands Pexco's silicone and TPE capabilities and broadens its end-market exposure in mobility, RV, marine and heavy equipment aftermarket segments; PEC owners Art Bowen and Dave Spears sold the business.

The Heico Companies Acquires Precision Engineering

The Heico Companies has completed the acquisition of Precision Engineering, a Uxbridge, Massachusetts-based Tier-1 manufacturer of precision sheet metal enclosures. Precision will join Heico’s Thermal Solutions Segment (TSS), expanding TSS’s capability to offer high-precision sheet metal–based thermal enclosures and peripherals to aerospace/defense and critical industrial OEMs.

Plasma Processes Acquires Metaltech Machine & Tool

Plasma Processes, a Huntsville-based provider of ultra-high temperature materials, coatings and propulsion systems, has acquired Metaltech Machine & Tool, a Scottsboro, Alabama wire EDM-focused machine shop that has supported customers for 27 years and supplied Plasma for over 15 years. The purchase vertically integrates key machining and metal-finishing capabilities into the Plasma Processes platform, which is backed by private equity firm Blue Sea Capital.
