Smith System Driver Improvement Institute, a portfolio company of Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, has acquired Driving Dynamics, a Newark, Delaware-based provider of driver safety training for commercial fleets. The add-on expands Smith System's training capabilities (virtual and in-person classroom, behind-the-wheel, eLearning and risk management) and further consolidates its market position in fleet safety services.

The combination unifies Smith System's driver training and behavior-based risk management with Utilimarc's telematics and fleet BI capabilities to deliver a closed-loop solution for safer, more efficient fleet operations.

MidOcean Partners Acquires SI Solutions

MidOcean Partners, a New York-based private equity firm, has acquired SI Solutions, a provider of engineering, testing, inspection, compliance, maintenance and digital solutions for power and critical infrastructure. SI Solutions (more than 450 employees) will remain led by CEO Mark Marano; management, employee shareholders and prior investor Jumana Capital have reinvested in the business. Terms were not disclosed.

Post Capital Partners and Management Acquire Smith Transportation Services

Post Capital Partners partnered with Smith Transportation's existing management team (Steve Smith, Bill Nichols, Jeff Maser and Christine Postlmayr) — with participation from Executive Partner Sam Woodward — to acquire Smith Transportation Services, a Sunrise, Florida-based third-party logistics and brokerage provider. Patriot Capital Group provided a unitranche debt facility and equity co-investment to support the buyout; Post Capital said the investment will fund technology investments, geographic expansion of its Load-to-Ride (LTR) offering and potential tuck-in acquisitions.

The capital will accelerate InterVision’s organic growth and support M&A in strategic areas such as cloud consulting, managed services, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity; InterVision operates nationally with 10 offices, 300+ employees and over 1,500 clients.
