ENGIE Ineo Acquires Powerlines from Gilde Buy Out Partners

ENGIE Ineo has agreed to acquire Powerlines, a European full-service provider of electrical rail and high-voltage infrastructure, from funds advised by Gilde Buy Out Partners. Powerlines, headquartered near Vienna and employing more than 1,000 people, will join ENGIE Ineo to create an international platform for transport infrastructure projects and offer turnkey energy and rail electrification solutions.

Energy Infrastructure Partners (EIP), together with a consortium of Belgian institutional investors, acquired a 19.85% stake in Fluxys; Macquarie Asset Management provided acquisition debt financing to support the transaction. The investment — announced in September and completed in February 2023 after Belgian regulator approval — positions investors to support Fluxys' role in European gas infrastructure and its planned expansion into hydrogen and CO2 infrastructure.
