Sayres Defense, backed by private equity sponsor Broadtree Partners, has acquired Global Systems Technologies (GST). Granite Creek provided debt and equity in support of the transaction alongside JP Morgan Chase and Muzinich BDC; GST joins Broadtree's GovCon platform (alongside Sayres and JRAD) to expand test & evaluation, systems engineering, logistics and R&D capabilities for defense and homeland security customers.

Madison Dearborn Partners Acquires T2S Solutions

Funds affiliated with Madison Dearborn Partners have acquired T2S Solutions, a founder-owned provider of R&D, prototyping, engineering, integration, and technology products serving the U.S. Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and other U.S. government agencies. The T2S founders will retain a significant minority stake and continue to lead the company as MDP provides capital and industry expertise to accelerate R&D, bring products to lead production, and expand mission-focused capabilities.

Leonardo DRS to Acquire RADA Electronic Industries in All-Stock Merger

Leonardo DRS and RADA entered into a definitive all-stock merger agreement to combine their defense technology capabilities into a single public company branded as Leonardo DRS. Under the terms, Leonardo DRS will acquire 100% of RADA and RADA shareholders will own about 19.5% of the combined company (RADA becomes a wholly owned subsidiary on closing).

Broadtree Partners, an operator-centric private equity firm, has acquired Sayres and Associates, a Washington, D.C.-based defense contractor providing acquisition, engineering, security and training support services to the U.S. Department of Defense. The deal is financed with senior debt from JPMorgan Chase and subordinated debt from Muzinich & Co.; Broadtree intends to use Sayres as a platform to build a larger government services provider and pursue add-on acquisitions.
