Siemens has signed an agreement to acquire Altair Engineering Inc. for $113 per share in cash, valuing the deal at about USD 10 billion. The transaction will combine Altair’s simulation, HPC, data science and AI capabilities with Siemens Xcelerator to create a more comprehensive AI-powered industrial software and digital twin portfolio.

Altaris Acquires Sharecare

Altaris Acquires Trean Insurance Group

Altaris, LLC completed a take-private acquisition of Trean Insurance Group, Inc., acquiring the remaining publicly held shares for $6.15 per share in a transaction that implied an approximate $316 million equity value. Trean will remain headquartered in Wayzata, Minnesota, with Julie Baron continuing as President and CEO and founder Andrew O'Brien remaining as Executive Chairman and an investor; Trean will cease trading on Nasdaq following the closing.

NortonLifeLock Acquires Avira from Investcorp for $360 Million

NortonLifeLock agreed to acquire Germany-headquartered cybersecurity software provider Avira from Investcorp for approximately $360 million in an all-cash deal announced in December 2020. The transaction, expected to close in Q1 2021 subject to regulatory approvals, strengthens NortonLifeLock’s consumer cyber-safety portfolio and builds a larger European footprint for the combined business.

Broadcom Acquires Symantec Enterprise Security Business

Altiris Acquires Pedestal Software for $65M

Altiris Inc. will acquire Newton, Massachusetts–based Pedestal Software for $65 million in cash and will assume Pedestal options. The acquisition expands Altiris's security and vulnerability-management capabilities, is expected to close by the end of the month and add roughly $17–18 million in revenue in fiscal 2005 as Altiris integrates Pedestal into its channels.
