BroadPeak Capital / Edible Brands Acquires Rōti Modern Mediterranean

Private-equity firm BroadPeak Capital (launched by Tariq Farid) acquired Rōti Modern Mediterranean out of bankruptcy in February and is transitioning the roughly 17-unit chain into a newly created platform, Edible Brands. The buyer plans to franchise Rōti aggressively, leverage cross-brand synergies with Edible Arrangements and Edible.com, and scale the concept nationally.

TradeBeyond Acquires Pivot88

TradeBeyond has acquired Pivot88, a SaaS provider of quality, compliance and traceability solutions for brands and retailers, strengthening TradeBeyond's extended supply chain platform. The deal—announced Sept. 13, 2023—follows EQT's investment in TradeBeyond and will combine Pivot88's AI-powered quality and traceability capabilities with TradeBeyond's CBX product lifecycle and sourcing solutions; Pivot88 co-founder Stephane Boivin will remain in a leadership role.

Philip Borden and Pacific Lake Partners Acquire LabShares

Philip Borden and investor Pacific Lake Partners acquired a majority stake in LabShares, a provider of shared laboratory facilities and services for early-stage biotech companies, with Borden assuming the role of CEO. The investment will support continued growth in Greater Boston, geographic expansion, and the addition of new services for LabShares' life science customers; founder Jeff Behrens remains on the board and as a shareholder.

Tonka Bay Equity Partners Acquires Corporate Technologies

Tonka Bay Equity Partners led a majority buyout of Corporate Technologies, a Minneapolis-based managed IT services provider, partnering with CEO Jim Griffith and junior capital provider Northstar Capital. The seller was North Central Equity; Northstar provided debt and an equity co-investment to support the transaction as Corporate Technologies becomes a platform for add-on growth across multiple U.S. markets.

The Brydon Group Acquires Peak Performance Solutions

The Brydon Group has acquired Peak Performance Solutions, a Tallahassee-based provider of training, compliance and audit software for law enforcement agencies. Financial terms were not disclosed; Byline Bank and NorthCoast Mezzanine provided financing to support the transaction and Peak's co-founders will remain in advisory roles while a new CEO, John Kingsbury, will lead growth initiatives.

Broadtree Partners Acquires Triage Partners

Charlotte-based private equity firm Broadtree Partners has acquired Triage Partners, a Tampa-headquartered technology-enabled provider of cloud-based software and services for the telecommunications and reverse logistics industries. Broadtree named James Han President and said the partnership will support growth and the globalization of Triage’s SaaS and services offerings.
