Republic Services Acquires US Ecology for $48/Share

Republic Services agreed to acquire all outstanding shares of US Ecology for $48 per share (approximately $2.2 billion including net debt) to expand its environmental solutions capabilities and national footprint. The deal provides Republic with vertically integrated hazardous and specialty waste treatment, disposal and field-service assets, and is expected to be immediately accretive with roughly $40 million of cost synergies over three years.

The transaction expands US Ecology’s Gulf Coast disposal capabilities, adding commercial caprock deep‑well injection capacity for difficult-to-treat Class 1 and 2 non-hazardous industrial waste streams.
