Massey Capital Acquires SMS Machine Tools Limited

Toronto-based private equity firm Massey Capital, in partnership with industry executive Craig Collison, has acquired SMS Machine Tools Limited, a long-established distributor and servicer of CNC machines serving Ontario and Quebec. Existing management will remain in place—Brian Smith as President and Craig Collison as General Manager—while Massey partner Scott Newhouse will join as CEO as the firm looks to grow the business over the long term.

FalconPoint Partners Acquires SMS (Scrap Metal Services)

FalconPoint Partners has acquired SMS (a carve-out of Scrap Metal Services LLC), a provider of outsourced steel mill services and marine vessel decommissioning, and has committed $500 million to support the business's growth, technology modernization, and acquisition pipeline. The deal positions FalconPoint to scale SMS's commercial capabilities and expand operations across the United States, Europe and South America while preserving SMS's management team and safety-first service model.

(SMS) to expand Pullman's masonry and concrete repair capabilities and geographic presence in the Philadelphia and Northeast U.S. region. SMS, founded in 1978 and based in the Philadelphia area, will be integrated into Pullman's operations to broaden service capacity and better serve regional clients.

Renta Group Oy has acquired Espoon Nosturikeskus Oy (Pohjanväre), Espoon Rakennuskonevuokraamo Oy and the operative assets of Lohjan Nosturipalvelu Oy. The acquisition expands Renta's presence in the Helsinki capital region and southern Finland, adding 3 depots, more than 10 employees and approximately EUR 5 million in annual revenue to Renta's rental platform.

Summa Defence Acquires Lännen MCE Oy

Finnish defence and security group Summa Defence Ltd has acquired Lännen MCE Oy (including its subsidiaries Lännen Tractors Oy, Aquamec Oy and Lännen MCE AB) through a share exchange agreement. The deal brings Lännen's multipurpose machinery and Watermaster capabilities into Summa Defence's portfolio to strengthen mobility and dual-use solutions for defence and civilian infrastructure; Lännen reported ~€50m revenue and ~150 employees for the year ending June 2023.

Volvo Construction Equipment Acquires Swecon (Including Entrack) for SEK 7 Billion

Volvo Construction Equipment has completed the acquisition of Swecon (including Entrack) for an enterprise value of SEK 7 billion after receiving European Commission approval. The deal brings Swecon’s retail, rental, aftermarket and service operations across Sweden, Germany and the Baltics — and roughly 1,400 employees — into Volvo CE to strengthen its retail and service capabilities in key Northern European markets.
