New Mountain Capital Leads Acquisition of Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI)

New Mountain Capital will lead a shareholder group to acquire Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), the world’s largest performing rights organization, with CapitalG taking a passive minority stake. The investment is intended to fund technology upgrades, new service offerings and M&A to increase royalty collections and accelerate cash distributions to BMI affiliates; BMI shareholders will allocate $100 million of sale proceeds to affiliates following closing.

By Light Professional IT Services, a portfolio company of Sagewind Capital, has acquired Orlando-based Dignitas Technologies, a provider of modeling, simulation and training (MS&T) products and mission rehearsal applications. Financial terms were not disclosed; the acquisition expands By Light's synthetic and cyber training capabilities and integrates Dignitas' work supporting multiple U.S. military branches and programs such as the F-35, ACTS II and NGC.

LBMX Acquires Buying Group Services (BGS)

LBMX Inc., a London, Ontario–based business marketplace platform provider, acquired Buying Group Services (BGS) in an all‑shares transaction effective January 1, 2022. The acquisition adds managed services capabilities to LBMX's existing EDI, PIM and eCommerce offerings, enabling expanded services (including central payments and PIM enrichment) for independent distributors, buying groups and suppliers across end markets such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building materials and food service equipment.

The acquisition will integrate ConsumerMedical’s decision-support, claims advocacy and AI-based predictive tools into Alight’s Worklife platform to enhance employer healthcare navigation and improve outcomes while reducing costs; the deal is expected to close in the third quarter subject to customary conditions.
