Textiles Monterey Group Acquires Patrick Yarns (launches FilSpec USA)

Textiles Monterey Group has acquired the Patrick Yarns facility in Kings Mountain, North Carolina (previously part of Coats Group) and will operate the site as FilSpec USA. The site will join FilSpec's existing Sherbrooke, Quebec operations to expand production capacity for technical specialty spun yarns across North America and Europe.

Patrick Industries agreed to acquire Sportech, a Minnesota-based designer and manufacturer of cab components and assemblies for powersports and adjacent OEM markets, for approximately $315 million. The all-cash transaction (funded with Patrick's cash and borrowings) is expected to close on or before January 24, 2024 and will make Sportech a wholly owned subsidiary of Patrick to support growth in the powersports/end markets and realize revenue and cost synergies.

Tex-Tech Industries Acquires Fiber Materials Inc. from Spirit AeroSystems for $165M

Spirit AeroSystems has sold its Fiber Materials Inc. (FMI) business to Tex‑Tech Industries, Inc. for $165 million in cash. FMI — a supplier of high‑temperature carbon/carbon and ceramic matrix composites with facilities in Biddeford, Maine and Woonsocket, Rhode Island and roughly 400 employees — supplies materials for defense and NASA programs; Tex‑Tech said the acquisition expands its thermally protective materials capabilities for aerospace, defense and space markets.

XFS Global Acquires HeyTex USA (Bondcote Performance Textiles)

XFS Global, LLC has acquired HeyTex USA, Inc., which has been renamed Bondcote Performance Textiles, LLC. The Pulaski, Virginia-based manufacturer of coated and laminated performance fabrics (≈60 employees) will operate under XFS Global as part of a vertical-integration strategy to strengthen shelter solutions for military and commercial customers; the transaction was financed with assistance from Lake Country Capital (LC2).
