Inspecs Group plc Acquires Eschenbach Holding GmbH from Equistone

British eyewear designer and manufacturer Inspecs Group plc has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Nuremberg-based Eschenbach Holding GmbH from funds advised by Equistone Partners Europe. The deal (reported at approximately €94.85 million) combines two leading eyewear businesses to strengthen the enlarged group's global market position, broaden product and customer portfolios and accelerate international expansion; the transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals.

Rodenstock (Apax-backed) Acquires Indo from Ergon Capital Partners

Rodenstock Group, a portfolio company of Apax Partners, has agreed to acquire the majority stake in Indo from Ergon Capital Partners III SA; minority investors Sherpa Capital and Oquendo Capital are also selling their stakes while Indo's management will reinvest in the combined group. Indo, a leading Spanish manufacturer of ophthalmic lenses and distributor of optical equipment with ~440 employees and production plants in Barcelona and Tangier, will join Rodenstock subject to antitrust clearance.

1847 Holdings LLC (NYSE American: EFSH) completed the acquisition of ICU Eyewear Holdings Inc., a designer and supplier of OTC reading glasses, sunglasses and specialty eyewear headquartered in Hollister, California. Total consideration was $4.5 million (approximately $4.0M cash plus $0.5M unsecured subordinated promissory notes); 1847 also closed ~$2.8M of unsecured debt financing with two institutional investors to support growth.

EssilorLuxottica Acquires Optical Investment Group (Romania)

EssilorLuxottica has agreed to acquire the entire share capital of Optical Investment Group (OIG), Romania’s leading optical retailer, from Innova/6 (an Innova Capital fund) and a group of individual minority shareholders. OIG operates 99 stores under the OPTIblu, Optiplaza and O51 banners, with over 650 employees; the transaction is expected to close in Q4 2024 subject to regulatory approvals.
