Otsuka Pharmaceutical Acquires Transcend Therapeutics

Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. entered into an agreement to acquire clinical-stage biotech company Transcend Therapeutics, which is developing rapid-acting treatments for neuropsychiatric disorders, including its lead program TSND-201 (methylone) for PTSD. Otsuka would pay $700 million upfront at closing and up to $525 million in contingent milestone payments, with completion expected in Q2 2026; the acquisition has since been completed.

BiomX Acquires Adaptive Phage Therapeutics

BiomX Inc. completed a stock-for-stock acquisition of Adaptive Phage Therapeutics (APT), making APT a wholly owned subsidiary and combining phage therapy capabilities and pipelines. Concurrently, BiomX raised $50 million in a private placement led by affiliates of Deerfield Management and the AMR Action Fund to advance two Phase 2 assets (BX004 and BX211) toward pivotal readouts in 2025–2026.

Cybin Inc. Acquires Small Pharma Inc.

Beckley Psytech Acquires Eleusis Therapeutics Limited

Schrödinger Acquires XTAL BioStructures

Schrödinger, Inc. acquired XTAL BioStructures, Inc., a Natick, Massachusetts–based structural biology services provider, in an all-cash transaction that closed January 14, 2022 for $6 million. The acquisition brings protein production, purification, biophysical methods and X-ray crystallography capabilities in‑house to support Schrödinger's structure-based drug discovery platform and expand its experimental offerings for customers.
