Morningstar Acquires CRSP From the University of Chicago

Morningstar completed its previously announced $365 million acquisition of the Center for Research in Security Prices (CRSP) from the University of Chicago. The deal brings CRSP Market Indexes (benchmarks for over $3 trillion in U.S. equities) and CRSP Research Data Products into the Morningstar Indexes business, with the CRSP indexes rebranded under the Morningstar name.

Zema Global Acquires cQuant.io

The acquisition, supported by Zema Global's investor FTV Capital, names cQuant.io CEO David Leevan President of Zema Global and expands Zema's data-to-analytics capabilities for energy, commodities and financial customers.

As part of the transaction Andrea Remyn Stone was named CEO, founder Dr. Zak El‑Ramly moved to chairman, and several FTV representatives joined ZEMA's board; financial terms were not disclosed.
