Ovivo Inc., a Montreal-based global water and wastewater treatment equipment and systems provider, has acquired Sherbrooke-based E2metrix Inc., a developer of electrochemical technologies for PFAS destruction. Ovivo had previously made a strategic investment in E2metrix in 2022 and will integrate E2metrix's electrochemical oxidation technology to accelerate commercialization and offer an onsite PFAS destruction solution across municipal and industrial water applications.

Ecolab Acquires Ovivo's Electronics Ultrapure Water Business

Ecolab Inc. has completed the acquisition of Ovivo's Electronics ultrapure water business, a transaction that expands Ecolab's capability in ultrapure water technologies for semiconductor manufacturing and data centers. The deal—based on an enterprise valuation reported at approximately C$2.4 billion—transfers Ovivo's high‑tech electronics water business (headquartered near Basel, Switzerland) to Ecolab's Global Water platform.

(together "ALAR"). The acquisition adds ALAR's dewatering equipment, chemical products and Central U.S. presence in Mokena, Illinois, to Ovivo's industrial water capabilities and supports Ovivo's expansion in North American industrial wastewater markets.

Ovivo Inc. has acquired Wastech Controls & Engineering (now Wastech Systems LLC), a Chatsworth, California-based process system integrator that designs and manufactures turnkey industrial wastewater treatment systems. The deal brings Wastech’s engineering, manufacturing and automation capabilities into Ovivo’s global water and wastewater platform to bolster its North American systems offering and create cross-selling opportunities in end markets such as biopharma, food & beverage and microelectronics.

Evoqua Water Technologies Acquires Frontier Water Systems

Evoqua Water Technologies purchased the remaining equity of San Diego-based Frontier Water Systems, completing its acquisition after an initial majority investment in 2019. Frontier, a supplier of modular bioreactor engineered equipment for removal of selenium, nitrate and metals from industrial wastewater, will expand Evoqua’s advanced wastewater treatment capabilities; terms were not disclosed.

Xylem Inc. Acquires Evoqua Water Technologies

Xylem Inc. completed the acquisition of Evoqua Water Technologies in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $7.5 billion, creating the world’s largest pure-play water technology company. The combined company has pro forma revenue of roughly $7.3 billion and more than 22,000 employees globally; the transaction is expected to deliver significant cost synergies and expands Xylem's advanced treatment and services capabilities across municipal and industrial end markets.
