Engineering Services Acquisitions in Louisiana

Westwood Professional Services, a Plano, Texas–based design and engineering firm, has acquired CSRS, a Baton Rouge, Louisiana–based development advisory and program management consulting firm. The deal expands Westwood’s footprint into Louisiana (adding four offices), adds locations in Texas and Southern California, and brings new capabilities including comprehensive program management, grants management, owner's representation, and governmental advisory.

TRC Companies, Inc. has acquired Rampart, a Baton Rouge‑based right‑of‑way and land rights acquisition firm. The deal expands TRC's permitting, right‑of‑way and land services capabilities across the utilities, oil & gas and renewable energy markets in the Southern and Mid‑Atlantic U.S.; Morrissey Goodale served as Rampart's exclusive financial advisor.

SkyKnight Capital has made a growth investment in Ampirical Solutions to support the company's expansion of engineering services and software offerings for the power industry. Ampirical's founders and management will remain significant shareholders and will launch a broad-based employee ownership program as the company scales.

Atwell, a national consulting, engineering and construction services firm, has acquired Hydro Consultants, a Baton Rouge-based surveying, engineering and mapping company. The acquisition expands Atwell’s surveying capabilities and its geographic footprint in Louisiana and the Gulf Coast; terms were not disclosed.

Bernhard Capital Partners has launched a dedicated architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) platform with an investment in Grace Hebert Curtis Architecture (GHC). Financial terms were not disclosed; GHC’s management will retain a significant stake while Bernhard will support growth and build the platform to expand capabilities and serve education, healthcare, commercial office and industrial clients.

McKim & Creed acquired GSA Consulting Engineers, Inc., an engineering firm based in Gonzales, Louisiana, to expand its services and geographic footprint into Louisiana. GSA’s staff and capabilities in water/wastewater, hydraulic, transportation and civil/site design will integrate into McKim & Creed’s multidisciplinary engineering platform; the founder Glenn G. Shaheen will join as vice president and regional manager.

Austin-based private equity firm Cotton Creek Capital has acquired Bossier City, Louisiana-based Landpoint, LLC (including its subsidiaries King Surveyors and West Company of Midland). The investment will support Landpoint's management team to accelerate organic growth and pursue strategic add-on acquisitions; Landpoint operates nine offices across the South Central United States with approximately 250 employees and provides land surveying, aerial data collection, 3D laser scanning and GIS services to energy, utility and industrial clients.

Atlas Technical Consultants and ATC Group Services, both backed by Bernhard Capital Partners, announced a merger that will retain the Atlas name and combine their complementary engineering, testing, inspection and environmental consulting capabilities. The combined company will operate across more than 40 states with a network of offices and employees, positioning the business for expanded service offerings and national scale.
