HVAC & Mechanical Acquisitions in Georgia

Alvarez & Marsal Capital has formed a strategic partnership with the Day & Nite family of companies and completed a merger with AmeriServe to create Day & Nite AmeriServe, a national HVAC, refrigeration, and commercial foodservice equipment service platform. The combined business, led by Day & Nite CEO Matthew Sher, will leverage A&M Capital's investment to expand geographically across the East Coast, Southeast and Texas and scale service capacity nationwide.

Impact Climate Technologies (ICT), an Ardian-backed HVAC holding company, has acquired Heat Transfer Systems of Georgia, an Alpharetta, Georgia-based provider of cooling towers, heat exchangers, boilers, water filtration and related HVAC equipment and services. The acquisition expands ICT’s presence in the Southeast and adds specialized thermal expertise to its platform; Heat Transfer Systems of Georgia will continue operating under its existing name and leadership.

GHK Capital Partners LP has completed the acquisition of Rogers Building Solutions, a Douglasville, Georgia-based provider of specialty mechanical HVAC and plumbing services. Rogers (founded 1962) serves mission-critical end markets including data centers, healthcare and manufacturing with over 1,200 skilled professionals across the Southeast; sellers were Aterian Investment Partners and Craft Work Capital.

Garnett Station Partners launched a new Commercial MEP platform, Grizzly MEP, and announced its first partnership with founder‑owned Stiles Heating & Cooling. The partnership makes Stiles the inaugural add‑on to the Grizzly MEP platform as Garnett Station and chairman Kelly Romano look to scale MEP services across geographies and end markets.

SuperHero Fire Protection, a portfolio company of Hidden Harbor Capital Partners, has acquired ABR Fire Protection to strengthen its Georgia footprint and expand recurring inspection, service, and maintenance revenue. ABR is headquartered in Buford, Georgia and specializes in inspection, repair, and upgrades of fire sprinklers and hazard detection systems for commercial customers.

Thermal Concepts, a Davie, Florida-based HVAC platform backed by Trivest Partners and Halmos Capital, has acquired 5 Seasons Mechanical LLC, an Atlanta-area provider of commercial and industrial HVAC maintenance and installation services. The transaction is Thermal Concepts' first acquisition in Georgia and is intended as an add-on to expand the platform's geographic footprint and service capabilities in the Atlanta metropolitan market.

Guild Garage Group has completed a partnership with All Four Seasons Garage Doors, a family-owned residential garage door replacement, repair and installation business headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia (with an additional location in Nashville, Tennessee). The deal expands Guild's footprint in the U.S. Southeast and will allow All Four Seasons' owner, Dan Watkins, and his management team to remain in place while benefiting from Guild's resources and roll-up platform model.

Interstate AC Service has partnered with Anchor Heating & Air Co., bringing the Douglasville, Georgia-based HVAC provider into Interstate's platform as it expands into the Atlanta market. The deal — the first since Interstate received an investment from an affiliate of Point 41 Capital Partners in December 2023 — will broaden Interstate's commercial offering; terms were not disclosed.

PremiStar, a commercial HVAC, plumbing and building automation platform based in Deerfield, Illinois, has acquired Entek Solutions (Buford, Georgia) and its subsidiary Encom (Knoxville, Tennessee). The acquisitions expand PremiStar’s mechanical service offerings and increase service density across the Atlanta metro area and Tennessee, enhancing capabilities for commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and municipal customers.

Atlanta-based private equity firm Grove Mountain Partners launched Service Country LLC, a home‑services platform, and completed the acquisition/partnership with McGee Heating and Air, a residential HVAC provider operating five locations in Georgia and South Carolina. McGee’s management, led by President Robert Kesler, will remain with significant equity; the platform will provide shared marketing, technology, training, and procurement support to drive growth across the Southeastern US.

Modigent has acquired Tebarco Mechanical, an Atlanta-area mechanical contracting and engineering firm founded in 1983, to expand Modigent’s national footprint and integrate Tebarco’s engineering, design-build, VDC and service capabilities. The deal brings Tebarco’s team into Modigent’s portfolio of HVAC, plumbing and controls businesses and aims to scale Tebarco’s operations nationally.

CoolSys, a national provider of refrigeration, HVAC, energy, and engineering solutions, has acquired Georgia Air Solutions, a Jackson, Georgia-based commercial refrigeration and HVAC service provider. The acquisition expands CoolSys's market density and service offerings in Georgia, adding local installation, repair, and maintenance capabilities for grocery, retail, education, and commercial customers.

Southeast Mechanical (SEM), a Palladin-backed HVAC, plumbing and electrical services platform, has acquired Guyton, Georgia-based Total Services HVAC and Appliances Company, LLC, marking SEM’s first expansion into the Georgia market. The business was built by Travis and Lisa Stephens, who will continue partnering with SEM as the company expands its residential and commercial HVAC and appliance service footprint in the Southeast.

Air Conditioning Specialist, Inc. (ACS), a portfolio company of Hidden Harbor Capital Partners, has acquired Total Comfort Cooling & Heating, a Macon, Georgia-based provider of residential and light commercial HVAC services. The acquisition is an add-on to ACS's platform to expand its footprint in the Southeast U.S.

Ardian's North America Fund acquired a majority stake in Tom Barrow Company, a leading provider of commercial HVAC solutions headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. The founding family and management will retain a meaningful minority ownership; financial terms were not disclosed and financing for the transaction included an unsecured term loan arranged by Platinum Equity's credit team.

Ace Hardware has acquired Unique Indoor Comfort Holdings, LLC from Grove Mountain Partners. Grove Mountain built Unique by consolidating a group of regional HVAC, plumbing and electrical service companies; the management team led by CEO Nate Kukla will remain in place as Unique joins Ace's home services strategy.

SuperHero Fire Protection, a portfolio company of Hidden Harbor Capital Partners, has acquired Fire Protection Solutions, LLC, a Columbus, Georgia-based provider of fire, life & safety installation and services. The acquisition expands SuperHero's geographic footprint in Georgia and increases recurring inspection/service and retrofit project revenue; Fire Protection Solutions will continue to be led by President Jody Harris.

TSG Consumer Partners and Oak Hill Capital have made a significant minority investment in The Wrench Group, a national provider of residential HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services. Existing investor Leonard Green & Partners and management retain a majority interest; the capital will be used to accelerate technology-enabled growth, expand digital capabilities, and support geographic expansion and strategic acquisitions.

Air Conditioning Specialist, Inc. (ACS), a portfolio company of Hidden Harbor Capital Partners, has made an investment in BGD Enterprise, Inc. (doing business as Pro Tech Services), a Byron, Georgia-based HVAC and plumbing services provider. The deal expands ACS's service mix toward service and replacement, adds plumbing capabilities, and strengthens ACS's presence in Middle Georgia as a PE-backed add-on.

South Florida–based HVAC platform Air Pros USA has acquired Airforce Heating and Air, an HVAC contractor serving Georgia and Alabama since 2000. The deal will integrate Airforce's operations and sales into the Air Pros USA platform to strengthen the buyer's local presence across Georgia and Alabama.

Unique Indoor Comfort, a home-services platform backed by Grove Mountain Partners, has acquired A-Total Plumbing, a residential and commercial plumbing services provider in metro Atlanta. The add-on expands Unique's HVAC and plumbing footprint in the Eastern United States and leverages Grove Mountain's capital and platform capabilities to scale operations, marketing and employee benefits.

Air Conditioning Specialist, Inc. (ACS), a portfolio company of Hidden Harbor Capital Partners, announced an investment in Charcool Heating & Cooling, a local HVAC provider serving residential and light commercial customers in the Milledgeville, Georgia area. The transaction is an add-on to ACS’s platform to strengthen its footprint near its Milledgeville location and expand service capabilities for existing customers.

Len The Plumber, a TSCP-backed residential plumbing platform, has acquired Canady's Heating, Air, Plumbing, a full-service residential HVAC and plumbing provider serving the Savannah, Georgia area. The Canady family (Fred and Kyle Canady) will remain post-close; terms were not disclosed. The deal expands Len The Plumber's service footprint into the Southeast and adds HVAC capabilities to the platform.

Hidden Harbor Capital Partners, a Boca Raton-based private equity firm, acquired Air Conditioning Specialist, Inc. (ACS), a Georgia-based HVAC service provider with locations in Milledgeville and Covington. The transaction closed on August 31, 2021 (terms undisclosed); Hidden Harbor said it will support ACS’s growth and expansion of service offerings across Georgia and the southeastern United States.

NearU Services, a founder-led home services platform based in Charlotte, North Carolina, has acquired Energy Savers, a Columbus, Georgia-based HVAC and home services contractor founded in 1977. The acquisition expands NearU's service footprint into Georgia and Alabama while keeping Energy Savers' local brand and management team in place.

DiversiTech Corporation has acquired Packard, Inc., a supplier of electrical aftermarket and OEM components for the HVAC/R industry. The deal expands DiversiTech’s product portfolio in HVAC/R electrical components and strengthens its supply-chain offering for wholesalers and OEM customers.
